2nd Sunday of Lent 28th February 2021
Temporary suspension of Church Services on Anglesey.
With the U.K. wide advice to “Stay at Home”, it is felt that we should be seen to be in touch with what is happening all over the U.K. and Ireland and help to keep our communities safe. The general population cannot meet in any numbers and it seems sensible and right that we should follow this nationwide advice.
There is no doubt that our services on Anglesey have been as safe as they could possibly be, but the more virulent strain of COVID 19 presents greater danger as the rise in cases on the Island proves. Given our experience of safeguarding our congregations it is hoped to recommence services as soon as it is considered safe to do so.
Sunday Liturgy will be streamed live and recorded at 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings from St. Mary’s, Holyhead. This recording will be available on the website for seven days on the Home Page.
The Newsletter, homily, Sunday Scripture and articles of interest will continue to be distributed every week by email and post to over four hundred households so ensuring that members of our seven faith communities keep in touch. These can also be accessed here on ‘This Sunday’page.
We will continue to offer a range of opportunities to gather together including the weekly and monthly
Services of Word, reading groups and courses of interest. In this way we can continue to be a worshipping community.

Like many farmers around the world Fairtrade farmers have had a very difficult year due to the pandemic. Illness, social distancing and lockdown restrictions have affected the ability to farm and transport goods across countries. Markets are unpredictable due to the shutdown of businesses. On top of all this, the farmers have to deal with the effects of the climate change crisis. Fairtrade farmers need our help more than ever. If you are able to, please buy an extra Fair Trade item during Fairtrade fortnight. Most supermarkets should stock tea, coffee, bananas and chocolate. Some supermarkets (for example the Co-op, Lidl and Waitrose) have a larger range including sugar, cocoa, biscuits and wine. Plus, with the lead up to Easter, they are selling Fairtrade Easter eggs! This one minute video gives a quick overview of Fairtrade: https://www.youtube.com/user/Fairtradefoundation This next link shows how Fairtrade empowers women farmers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yP5NR3BbdKE&feature=emb_title This next clip shows how Fairtrade helps farmers to cope with climate change: https://youtu.be/0xQP6tVlcxg For more general information about Fairtrade go to: https://fairtradewales.com/get-involved/fairtrade-fortnight-2021 Oblate Connections February 2021

For the Sunday signed Mass Click HERE One of the saddest things about the Covid-19 lockdown has been the closure of our churches. The Mass is still broadcast on radio and television - and many parishes now stream Masses and prayers on-line - but these are very difficult to follow for people with hearing impairment. There are a growing number of parishes that offer signed services online. Here is an up-to-date list of websites in the UK and Ireland ...
